Belonen van gezondheidsgedrag: perspectieven uit beleid en wetenschap (Rewarding healthy behavior: policy and science perspectives)
Om gezondheidsproblemen te voorkomen en de zorg te ontlasten is het stimuleren van een gezonde leefstijl belangrijk. Een van de meest effectieve interventies is het belonen van gezonde gedragsverandering. In dit symposium delen wetenschappers en beleidsmakers recente inzichten over het gebruik van (financiële) beloningen voor gezondheid.
Programma: David de Buisonjé verdedigd de dag na het symposium zijn proefschrift en zal tijdens dit symposium zijn promotieonderzoek presenteren naar financiele prikkels voor gezondheidsgedrag. Koen van der Swaluw kijkt vanuit een beleidsperspectief naar beloningen en bespreekt onder andere kwesties rond solidariteit. Luc Hagenaars combineert bestuurskundig, complexiteits- en gezondheidswetenschappelijk onderzoek naar deze upstream commerciële determinanten van gezondheid, en deelt zijn ervaringen na een jaar onderzoek op dit vlak aan de University of California San Francisco. Elena Agachi presenteert haar promotieonderzoek naar het gezondheidsplatform SamenGezond van zorgverzekaar Menzis. Zij zal onder andere laten zien hoe kwetsbare groepen met een lagere sociaaleconomische positie beter bereikt kunnen worden. Tot slot presenteren Linda Breeman en Veronica Janssen de ontwikkeling en evaluatie van het BENEFIT programma en de Box, twee gezondheidsprogramma’s voor mensen met hart- en vaatziekten waar ook met beloningssprincipes wordt gewerkt.

To prevent health problems and relieve the burden on the healthcare system, it is important to stimulate a healthy lifestyle. One of the most effective interventions is rewarding healthy behavior change. In this symposium, scientists and policymakers share recent insights into the use of (financial) incentives for health.
Program: David de Buisonjé will defend his dissertation the day after the symposium and will present his PhD research into financial incentives for health behavior change. Koen van der Swaluw looks at incentives from a policy perspective and discusses issues surrounding solidarity, among other things. Luc Hagenaars combines public administration, complexity and health science research into the upstream commercial determinants of health, and shares his experiences after a year of research in this area at the University of California San Francisco. Elena Agachi presents her PhD research into the health platform SamenGezond of healthcare insurer Menzis. She will, among other things, show how vulnerable groups with a lower socio-economic position can be reached. Finally, Linda Breeman and Veronica Janssen present the development and evaluation of the BENEFIT program and the Box, two health programs for people with cardiovascular diseases that also work with reward principles.
